Job Description / Responsibility
  • Purpose : The Senior Manager, Finance, is responsible for the financial health of the organization. S/he is responsible for BYLC's overall financial planning, administrative management, record-keeping, and reporting its financial risks. S/he will develop strategies and plans for the long-term financial sustainability of the organization.
  • Major Responsibilities
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the management committee
  • Supervise accounting and financial systems and ensure full and accurate accounting records
  • Manage, institutionalize, and monitor all financial aspects in all the departments at BYLC
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports
  • Develop and regularly update financial guidelines and procedures for all the departments at BYLC
  • Ensure that all financial matters are in accordance with legislation and ethical accounting practices
  • Conduct internal audit
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the organization's risk profile
  • Prepare agenda and documentation for board meetings, write and circulate minutes, and ensure regulatory compliance for all organizational matters
  • Manage and train the finance team staff

    NGO
Job Requirements
  • Preference will be given to qualified accountants, with prior work experience in a category A audit firm
  • Minimum five years of work experience in mid to senior level positions within a small or medium organization, preferably with experience of managing donor-funded projects and reporting to NGO Affairs Bureau
  • Strong track record of effective financial management
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communications, with ability to manage others
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and management skills

Originally developed at Harvard University in 2008, Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) was established in Bangladesh in 2009 with the vision of creating a more inclusive, tolerant and just society by training the next generation of home-grown leaders. The signature program of BYLC is the four-month long leadership course, Building Bridges through Leadership Training (BBLT). This program, designed for students aged between 17 and 22, is offered twice a year in Dhaka and Chittagong. BYLC also conducts month-long leadership programs for secondary school students, BBLT Junior, and workshops on leadership and entrepreneurship for university students and young professionals. BYLC has over 320 graduates from 11 different programs, and collectively they have completed more than 18,000 hours of service in underprivileged communities. Parallel to this, BYLC hosts the annual Youth Leadership Summit which brings together young people from diverse backgrounds and distinguished innovators and leaders from the private, public and non-profit sectors for a journey of collective exploration, reflection, learning 
and networking.
